Four renal angiomyolipomas (AML) 6-13cm in diameter in four patients were treated with transcatheter arterial embolization with ethanol-Lipiodol emulsion. No AML had been ever ruptured but all symptomatic. Three of them were abundant in angiomyogenic component and the other one in fatty component. The mean percentage of tumor size decrement was 67% one month after embolization in three angiomyogenic AMLs. In one fatty AML, liquefaction was observed after embolotherapy and percutaneous drainage six months after embolotherapy resulted in 46% of tumor size decrement. No recurrence was found during 11-21 months follow-up observation after embolotherapy.
