N2 - In the crystal structure of the title compound, C8H6N2·C6H2Cl2O4, there are two crystallographically independent chloranilic acid (systematic name: 2,5-dichloro-3,6-dihydr-oxy-1,4-benzoquinone) mol-ecules, each of which is located on an inversion center. The quinoxaline ring system makes dihedral angles of 6.09 (9) and 44.50 (9)° with the two chloranilic acid planes. The quinoxaline and the chloranilic acid are connected alternately by O - H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a zigzag chain running along the [20 ] direction. The chains are stacked along the a axis, forming a layer extending parallel to the (010) plane. The layers are further linked by C - H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
