Evidence for nodes in the superconducting energy gap of the skutterudite compound PrOs₄Sb₁₂

We report NQR measurements in the filled-skutterudite compound superconductors Pr ( Os_{1 - x} Ru_x )₄ Sb₁₂ ( x = 0.1, 0.2 ). Upon replacing Os with Ru, the spin-lattice relaxation rate 1 / T₁ becomes proportional to temperature (T) at low temperatures far below T_c, and the magnitude of ( 1 / T₁ T )_{low - T} increases with increasing Ru content. These results indicate that a finite density of states are induced at the Fermi level by the impurity, suggesting that there exist nodes in the gap function of PrOs₄Sb₁₂.
