Abstract

A new pentacyclic hydroquinone sulfate with a 2,5-dihydro-2,5furandiol ring, xestosaprol C (1), has been isolated from an Okinawan marine sponge Xestospongia sapra. The structure of 1 was elucidated by the spectroscopic data.
