Abstract

Generation of 15 GPa in a 1. 8 cm**3 recovered cell volume is realized by means of an MA8 type pressure-generating apparatus in a pair of guide blocks driven by a uniaxial force of approximately 5000 t. This performance is attained by use of sandwich-type composite metal gaskets, which have been devised for multiple anvil system.
