Abstract

An iterative virtual channel receiver using Turbo codes is proposed in this paper. The receiver can detect signals even when the number of the signal streams exceeds the number of the receive antennas. We show that SISO detection can improve the BER performance compared to when the hard detection is used. Moreover, it is shown that it is better to use the same phase pattern in calculating LLRs of the phase elements.
