We discuss the Uranium 5 f electron states in UPd3 and UAl3 on the basis of the theoretical calculation of the core level photoemission with the use of the impurity Anderson model. In order to suppress the ambiguity in evaluating the relevant physical parameters involved in the model, such as the 5 f–5 f Coulomb interaction strength and the hybridization strength between the 5 f and ligand valence orbitals, we adopt a Bayesian data analysis framework. As a result, we conclude the importance of the energy dependence in the hybridization strength. It suggests the importance of the nonlocal screening effects in U compounds as well as in the cuprates.
