Abstract

This paper presents the examination of consequent pole type ferrite PM axial gap motor with field winding. Especially the configuration of magnet and rotor core is analyzed with equivalent magnetic circuit and 3D FEA. The prototype was assembled and the comparison between test result and analysis is also provided. It is confirmed that high torque and efficiency characteristic is achieved when the width of magnet and rotor core are 21 deg. and 15 deg. (mechanical angle) respectively.
