Abstract

This paper reports a comparison of the experimental results and analysis of the SRMs. Two Switched Reluctance Motors (SRMs) have been designed, constructed, and tested. The iron core of these machines is made of 6.5% silicon steel and conventional 3.5% silicon steel. The performance of these SRMs has been investigated in full loading tests. Efficiency of both SRMs has reached more than 90% and output power has reached more than 50 kW.
