Technique for writing of nonlinear optical single-crystal lines in glass

Abstract

A study was performed on a technique for writing of nonlinear optical single-crystal lines in glass. The crystal lines showed uniform colors in second-harmonic generation (SHG) measurements and polarized optical microscope. It was found that the crystal lines written by YAG laser irradiations were β-BaB2O4 (β-BBO) bulk single crystals.
