Abstract

The C9-C20 spiroacetal parts of spirofungin A and B, antifungal antibiotics from Streptomyces violaceusniger Tu 4113, were synthesized simultaneously from (S)-citronellyl bromide and (±)-epoxy alcohol via alkyne-lactone coupling reaction and diastereomeric separation.
