Abstract

Recently, a lot of work has been performed on the acid-base properties of Lewis acidic molten salts. One of the most extensively investigated melt systems is the sodium chloroaluminate melt (175°-220°C) in which the chloride ion activity is dependent upon the composition of the melt.
