Abstract
Experiments with a high-Q liquid-hydrogen droplet (LHD) in the ultraviolet region of 400-500-μm diameters were carried out. It was shown that a LHD could achieve high-Q values that exceed 109 for whispering-gallery modes in the ultraviolet. Pumping high-Q LHD with ultraviolet laser radiation generated many vibrational and rotational Raman sidebands that covered a broad spectral range from the ultraviolet to the near infrared.
