Abstract
A demand of automated guided vehicle (AGV) is increasing in company with elimination or reduction of labor in the factory automation. An industrial application of fuzzy control has been investigated and now is put into practical use. In this paper, the steering control of AGV using fuzzy control is proposed, experimented and discussed for the fast response and energy saving in case of the step change of guide tape. It is found from the experimental results that the fuzzy control is stabler as compared with the PI control. The fuzzy control is implemented so as to achieve the reduction of steering energy, and the steering angle is better than that of the PI control. The integration of the steering angular velocity of the fuzzy control decreases about 30% as compared with the PI control.
