Abstract

To produce an open-ended and small magnetic shield especially for biomagnetic measurements, an open-type cylindrical hybrid magnetic shield with double-D high-Tc superconducting loops was developed. It was experimentally demonstrated that the double-D superconducting loops at each open end of the cylindrical magnetic shield improve not only axial but also transverse shielding effects of the magnetic shield.
