Abstract

: A variety of 2,3,4-trisubstituted furans are prepared by treatment of tantalum—alkyne complexes with aldehydes, followed by addition of an isocyanide in DMR-PhH-THF (1:1:1). Transition metals exhibit a variety of interesting reactivities, thereby suggesting new methods in organic synthesis. We disclose here a regioselective preparation of highly substituted furans1from three components, i.e.
