Abstract

Pd/TDAE-promoted reductive coupling of aryl bromides (Ar-Br) proceeded in ionic liquids, e.g., BdmimBF4 and BdmimTf2N, to afford the corresponding symmetric biaryls (Ar-Ar) in good yields. Proper choice of ionic liquids and Pd catalysts is indispensable. Recycle use of BdmimTf2N and Pd catalyst was performed successfully.
