The preparation of the 1:2 salt of the compound, 2C4H 10N+.C6Cl2O 4 2- using pyrrolidine as a counter-base and to determine its crystal structure was investigated. The compound was investigated as part of a study on D-H · · · A hydrogen bonding in chloranilic acid-amine 1:1 and 1:2 systems. The crystal structures of the chloranilic acid-secondary amine 1:1 system were analyzed for the morpholinium, diethylammonium and piperidinium salts. The results show that crystals were obtained by slow evaporation of an acetonitrile solution of pyrrolidine and chloranilic acid in 2:1 molar ratio.
