Abstract

Inclusive electrons have been studied in hadronic events from e+e- annihilation at 29 GeV. The cross section is measured as (e+e-eX)=35.84.6 pb in the momentum range 0.5<p<5.5 GeV/c. The semielectronic branching ratios of b and c quarks are found to be (14.6 2.8)% and (9.1 1.3)%, respectively. Hard fragmentation functions are found for both b and c, with Zb=0.780.05 and Zc=0.690.06. No evidence of anomalous electron production is observed.
