Abstract

A calculation method for the probability of liquefaction is shown in this paper. The spatial variability of soil parameters for the liquefaction resistance and the statistical characteristics of earthquake occurrences are considered in the analysis. Furthermore, a reliability-based design of sand compaction piles for ground improvement is discussed.
