Phonon anomalies due to collective stripe modes in high Tc cuprates

Abstract

Phonon anomalies due to collective stripe modes in high Tc cuprates were demonstrated. These anomalies were observed mainly by neutron scattering experiments on La2-xSrxCuO4 (LSCO) and YBa2Cu3O6+x (YBCO) with various doping levels. The gapped branches of the phonon were found to be in-phase and out-of-phase oscillations relative to the charge collective mode. Results showed reconnection and gap formation in bands.
