Abstract
Persistence lengths (P1) were measured for 4,4- and 6,6-ionenes (m,m-ionene) and 1,1-oxyethyleneionene (1,1-OEI) in methanol using small-angle X-ray scattering to characterize the local conformations in ionenes. Since the electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions are suppressed in methanol, P1 in this solution may reflect the intrinsic chain stiffness of ionenes.
