Abstract
An overview of an open-ended, cylindrical magnetic shield developed using high-TC superconducting rings and flexible magnetic sheets was presented. The superconducting ring was made of Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox tape wire and the flexible magnetic sheet was made of Fe-Cu-Nb-Si-B nanocrystalline alloy. The results demonstrated that superconducting rings are highly effective in increasing the shielding factor and result in shorter magnetic shield.
