Abstract
In order to investigate the microscopic origin of the transitions at TMI ∼ 16.5 K and T* ∼ 14 K in filled skutterudite compound SmRu4 P12, we have carried out 31P - NMR measurements using a single crystal sample. The drastic change in the NMR line-shape below TMI was observed, which is attributed to the occurrence of some long-range magnetic ordering. The order is probably associated with octupole ordering as indicated from the NMR measurements on the powder sample of SmRu4 P12.
