NMR study of the orbital ordering in Lu2V2O 7

Abstract

We have made 51V NMR measurements on a single crystal to study the orbital ordering in L2V2O7 with the pryochlore structure. The anisotropy of the NMR frequency observed in an external field of 5 T for the ferromagnetic state of Lu2V 2O7 is explained well by an orbital ordering model with dxy+dyz+dzx-type orbitals.
