Abstract
Two-dimensional magnetic short-range ordering was observed by neutron diffraction in polycrystalline ErFe2O4 at temperatures where a thermoremanent magnetization is observed but three-dimensional ordering develops at lower temperature. A slight incommensurate character was observed in the low-temperature diffraction.
