Abstract

Herein, we report on nano-sized Mn oxide/carboxylic acid or amine-functionalized carbon nanotubes as water-oxidizing composites in artificial photosynthesis. The composites are synthesized by simple procedures and characterized by different methods. The water-oxidizing activities of these composites are also considered in the presence of cerium (IV) ammonium nitrate and Ru(bpy)3 3+ in a photochemical reaction. Some composites are efficient Mn-based catalysts with turnover frequency (TOF, mmolO2/(mol Mn·s)) of more than 1.
