Abstract

A miniaturized dual polarization antenna for a wireless IC-based on the PCMCIA Standard is proposed. The V-pol elements and H-pol are installed on the end face of the IC-card. Measured and calculated radiation patterns show that the degradation of the radiation characteristics of the V-pol component is small even when the IC-card is completely inserted into the PC terminal. The H-pol component is affected by the other element and the PC terminal, but further improvement can be expected.
