Abstract
The possibility of light localization in a gold suspension is discussed in terms of Mie scattering theory. The results show that at the longer wavelength side of the Mie resonance, namely at 0.9-1 μm, the Ioffe-Regel criterion is able to be met, while the absorption length can be much longer than the elastic mean free path of a photon.
