Mastectomy in female to male transsexuals third report; algorithm in mastectomy

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

We usually adopt the inferior peri-areolar approach for mastectomy in female to male transsexuals. This procedure is very useful for those with moderate volume and non ptotic breasts. However, this procedure cannot be adopted for those with severely ptotic breasts. Therefore, we classified mammaries into three groups according to the degree of ptosis, considering especially the relation with the areola and infra-mammary fold. And we introduced an algorithm for the selection of suitable operative procedures for each group.
