Magnetic properties of U2RhGa8 and U2FeGa8

Abstract

Single crystals of U2FeGa8 and U2RhGa8 with the tetragonal structure were grown by the self-flux method. Both compounds were Pauli paramagnets and possessed relatively large γ-values of 52 and 43 mJ K-2/mol U, respectively. The large γ-value suggested that U2FeGa8 has large electron and hole Fermi surfaces.
