Abstract
Thermodynamic properties of the one-dimensional chiral planar model in a field are investigated by means of the numerical transfer integral method. We focus our attention on the magnetization process, emphasizing the unique behavior of the spin-structure factor. Then it is discussed in connection with soliton-like excitations.
