Abstract

We have used fast-ion-beam laser spectroscopy to measure the hyperfine structure of 36 transitions in Pr II in the wavelength range 420-460 nm, obtaining the hyperfine constants of 8 odd-parity levels in the range 0-5079 cm-1 and 32 even-parity levels in the range 22 040-28 578 cm-1 with a typical accuracy o f 0.2%. These will find useful application in stellar elemental abundance studies.
