Abstract

An overview of the crystal structures and physical properties of the recently discovered ironplatinumarsenide superconductors, Ca 10(Pt nAs 8)(Fe 2-xPt xAs 2) 5 (n=3 and 4), which have a superconducting transition temperature up to 38 K, is provided. The crystal structure consists of superconducting Fe 2As 2 layers alternating with platinumarsenic layers, Pt nAs 8. The upper critical field Hc2, hydrostatic pressure dependence of superconducting transition temperature Tc, and normal-state magnetic susceptibility are reported.
