Indoor Simultaneous TOA Estimation of Multiple Users Using Leaky Coaxial Cable

Abstract

With the increase in the number of smart devices and various IoT devices, technology on simultaneous localization of multiple users is becoming an important issue in many indoor application scenarios such as health care, manufacturing automation and robotics. The motivation of this paper is to propose a simultaneous time of arrival (TOA) based estimation method of multiple users using leaky coaxial cable (LCX). The proposal aims to distinguish different signal sources from the mixed signal by using the different time when the signals transmitted by different users arrive at the receiving side. The estimation of the signal arrival time is completed by the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm. The experiment results show that the proposal has a promising performance in simultaneous TOA estimation for multiple users.
