Abstract

A soliton contribution to the low-temperature heat capacity of the linear antiferromagnet (CH//3)//4NMnCl//3 (TMMC) in a high magnetic field is calculated by using the transfer integral method. The model properly takes into account a switching of effective hard anisotropy axis, which is expected to occur at a high field (9 approximately 10T) when the field is applied parallel to the easy plane. The present results are in quantitative agreement with the recent experimental data.
