Functional near-infrared imaging system using adaptable multi-channel probes

Abstract

We have developed an 8-channel measurement system for functional near-infrared imaging of skeletal muscles. The multi-channel probes are adaptable so that they can be placed in arbitrary arrangement. To evaluate the system performance, we utilized a phantom containing a movable absorber in a liquid scattering medium. Measurements of some muscles have been conducted during muscle contraction.
