Abstract

Phase equilibrium in the La-Sr-Cu-O system has been studied mainly by the X-ray diffraction analysis. The equilibrium phase diagram of the La//2O//3-SrO-CuO system was drawn up at 1173 K in air. We found two new compounds: Sr//3Cu//5O//x and La//4SrCu//5O//x. Sr//3Cu//5O//x has an orthorhombic structure with lattice parameters: a equals 3. 956, b equals 13. 412 and c equals 11. 475 in A. U. It was confirmed that the K//2NiF//4-type oxide (La//1// minus // alpha Sr//a//l//p//h//a)//2CuO//x is a solid solution of 0 less than equivalent to alpha less than equivalent to 0. 5 in which the terminal compounds are LA//2CuO//4 and LaSrCuO//4, respectively.
