Abstract

In lupus nephritis immune complex deposition and proliferation with necrosis are found in a variety of degree. Sometimes there are discrepancies between histological findings and clinical findings. Therefore, we performed electron microscopic examination on renal biopsy specimens, with emphasis on glomerular basement membrane (GBM) whose dysfunction causes proteinuria and hematuria. We evaluated the relationship between histological changes and clinical findings in this study.
