Abstract
The effect of a flavonoid, quercetin and its oxidized form, on electron phototransfer in subchloroplast preparations of photosystems I and II has been studied. It is shown that quercetin and its oxidized form inhibit electron transfer respectively in the acceptor and donor regions of photosystem II and serve respectively as an electron donor or acceptor in photosystem I.
