Abstract
We study the dynamical spin correlation function of the S = 1/2 antiferromagnetic chain with alternating nearest-neighbor exchange interactions and with competing next-nearest-neighbor exchange interactions, emphasizing the role played by the dimer order in the ground state. In particular, a triplet dimer in the singlet-dimer background is discussed in connection with the numerical result.
