Abstract

This report presents an investigation of helical tuyeres for rapid refining. This enables a decrease in wear rate and spitting compared with a conventional tuyere. On the basis of a water model experiment, the helical tuyere was tested in a 5 t converter to determine its application to smelting reduction technology.
