Abstract
Highly siliceous zeolites are strong Bronsted acids and possess unique catalytic properties. They may be synthesized from low-Si zeolites by a de-alumination process using SiCl4 vapour or (NH4)2SiF6 solution. Similar treatment of phyllosilicates such as muscovite, phlogopite and K-depleted phlogopite failed to produce high-Si zeolites.-D.J.M.
