Abstract
Layered ternary chalcogenide α-BaCu4S3 shows a phase transition at ca. 190K. Electron diffraction studies revealed that the transition was accompanied by the formation of a superstucture with a wave vector of q = (1/5) b*. The observed superlattice electron diffraction patterns were analyzed on the basis of a superstructure model using the multi-slice calculation method.
