Abstract

The crystal structure of organic superconductor, α-(BEDT-TTF)2NH4Hg(SCN)4, under the uniaxial strain was studied in order to investigate the relationship between the electronic properties and the crystal structure. The determination of the lattice parameters under the a-, b*- and c-axial strain of piston pressure 1.5-2.0 kbar was performed based on the 50-60 stronger Bragg reflections. It was found that the uniaxial strain was realized, that is, the unit cell was largely changed only along the direction parallel to the external force, as we expected.
