Abstract
Neutron scattering experiments were performed to study the antiferromagnetic structure and the two-dimensional short-range correlation of copper spins in non-doped Pr2CuO4-δ, the parent material of the electron-doped oxide superconductor Pr2-xCexCuO4-δ, in the temperature range from 325 K to 10 K. A single-crystal sample used in the present study orders at TN=249±1 K with the antiferromagnetic La2NiO4 structure. A highly inelastic two-dimensional spin correlation was observed above and below TN, whose qualitative behavior is similar to the spin-fluid state observed in La2CuO4-δ.
