Abstract
The local arrangement of a substitutional Cr3+ ion for an Al3+ ion in corundum is studied by means of a Fluorescence XAFS method. The large single crystal is used and the removal method of the diffraction peak at various energy is described. The Cr3+ ion is coordinated in the nearly same structure as Cr2O3.
