Abstract
A complete thermodynamic analysis is formulated to determine P-p-T (P, pressure; ρ, density; T, temperature) relations from multiple shock Hugoniots (Hugoniots on the same material with different initial temperatures), where 'complete' implies free from introducing any assumption into the analysis. The newly proposed method is proven to be useful for analyzing experimental data with an accuracy of 10-2-10-4.
