Coherent hybrid DS-FFH CDMA - basic performance in mobile radio environment

Abstract

A coherent hybrid DS-FFH CDMA system combining the coherent frequency hopping and direct sequences techniques is presented. The proposed method features the following: CDM by the low-chip-rate DS using orthogonal codes; the frequency-diversity effect obtained for each symbol by the maximum-ratio synthesis of the multiple chips spread by the coherent FFH. The system configuration and the operation are also discussed, together with a computer simulation and its transmission characteristics.
