Abstract
Five Co-Mg olivines (Co0.23Mg1.77SiO4, Co0.4Mg1.6SiO4, Co0.92Mg1.08SiO4, Co1.45Mg0.55SiO4 and Co1.76Mg0.24SiO4) have been systematically synthesized by a floating-zone method and investigated by XRD methods in order to clarify the intracrystalline distribution of Co2+ and Mg2+ ions between two octahedral sites (M(1) and M(2)). -J.A.Z.
